Debian 4.0 Release ( finalmente )

Após 21 meses de desenvolvimento, problemas internos e falta de colaboração o projeto Debian finalmente liberou o Release tanto esperado de codenome Etch neste último domingo dia 08/04/2007.
A distro teve muitas mudanças importantes começando pelo Debian Installer ( sistema de instalação do Debian Gnu/Linux ), o X11 foi substituido finalmente pelo Xorg, agora o Debian possui nativo o suporte a SE Linux, o Kernel built-in é o 2.6.18 e o window manager padrão agora é o Gnome 2.14.

A distribuição Debian Gnu/Linux é sem dúvida uma distribuição muito importante na comunidade visto que muitas outras distros baseiam-se pelo flexibilidade e estabilidade do Debian para gerar e manter novas distribuições.
